Hurricane winds over Himalaya next week-end !

Yan's note to JCL: Hurricane winds over Himalaya next weekend

Over the next couple of days, extreme winds are forecast over the himalayan range.  Furious winds will reach next to 200 km/h at 8000 m and 140/160 km/h at 7000 m ! Just try to put your hand out of your car at those speeds and you'll get a very good idea of what it's going to be like on Makalu next weekend!
As mentioned on the image (above), those winds come from the jonction of the Europe-Asia jet and the Mid-Atlantic jet.  The result is as very very strong current of air that crosses Siberia, Northern Pacific and even reaches United States.  This situation should prevails on Makalu for some time: «Jean-Christophe, your gonna be able to read again some Proust and think about World's destiny with you two cooking mates!».  A good himalayan climber must always be able to think and wait; this is today's advice from a good old weatherman!
