Altitude : 8091m.
First of the top : the 3 june 1950 by Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal (France).
Altitude base camp : 4250m.
Go of approach : five days.


1992 :  Attempt at opening of a new direct way in the southern face. Disappearance of Pierre Beghin.
1995 : Solitary attempt at first ascent in the Southern face. Failure with 7400/7500m.
1998 : southern face. New failure.
2002 : First world with the realization in outward journey and return of the edge Is of Annapurna, that is to say 15 kilometers of edge between 7500 and 8000 meters of altitude.

the ANNAPURNA is the most top of an important solid mass the ANNAPURNA HIMAL which is located in the central part of Nepal at approximately 150 kms of Kathmandu.

Name: Tragic name related to a Hindu divinity meaning “goddess of the harvests”.

History: It was the first “8000” with being climbed in June 1950 by the French team directed  by Maurice Herzog.
